Plan Sponsors

The Joint sponsors of the WSIB Employees’ Pension Plan (the Plan) are the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and the Ontario Compensation Employees Union (OCEU). WISE Trust was established to give WSIB and OCEU equal voices in the administration of the Plan through a jointly sponsored pension plan model.

The Sponsors are responsible for determining the terms and conditions of the Plan, including setting contribution and benefit levels in accordance with the Funding Policy. The sponsors also appoint Trustees to the WISE Trust Board of Trustees.

Is the administrator of the Plan. The Trustees have a fiduciary duty to administer the Plan and invest its assets in accordance with law and the Plan’s terms. This means they enact policies and ensure they’re carried out, and seek the advice of experts. They play an important part in maintaining and sustaining your WISE Trust pension.
